Spotify, the popular music streaming service, has announced that it will increase the price of its premium subscription in Pakistan starting from next week. The company said that the price hike is necessary to continue providing high-quality music and podcasts to its users.
According to the new pricing plan, Spotify premium will cost Rs. 299 per month, up from Rs. 239 per month. This is a 25% increase in the monthly fee. Spotify premium offers ad-free listening, offline downloads, and unlimited skips for millions of songs and podcasts.
Spotify said that the price increase reflects the rising costs of content creation and licensing, as well as the inflation and currency fluctuations in Pakistan. The company also said that it is investing in new features and improvements to enhance the user experience and satisfaction.
Spotify users who are already subscribed to the premium plan will not be affected by the price increase until their next billing cycle. Users who are on a trial or promotional offer will also pay the old price until their offer expires. Spotify said that it will notify its users about the price change via email and in-app notifications.
Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming services in the world, with over 365 million monthly active users and over 165 million premium subscribers. The service launched in Pakistan in February this year, offering a wide range of local and international music and podcasts.
