The Prime Minister’s directive was issued during a meeting with a high-level Meta delegation, led by Simon Milner, Vice President for Asia Pacific. The discussions focused on potential collaboration opportunities in Pakistan’s IT and digital media sectors.
The meeting, attended by key government officials including Shaza Fatima, Jahanzeb Khan, and Tania Odros, highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing the country’s digital infrastructure. The Prime Minister pointed out that the government has allocated an unprecedented budget for IT development, marking a significant step towards digital transformation.
Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the need for utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence to drive national progress. He instructed the relevant authorities to address any operational challenges Meta may be facing in Pakistan, ensuring a smooth partnership between the tech giant and the country.
During the session, the Meta delegation shared insights into their services across Pakistan and the Asia Pacific region. They also noted Pakistan’s recent achievement in hosting the first AI competition in the region, reflecting the country’s growing prominence in the tech world.
