Xiaomi’s EV Ambitions Soar with SU7 Electric Car Milestones

Xiaomi’s Impressive Entry into Electric Vehicles

In just one year, Xiaomi has proven its ability to disrupt the electric vehicle market. Following the March 2024 launch of its SU7 sedan, the company delivered an impressive 150,000 units by year-end. For 2025, Xiaomi has set its sights even higher, aiming to deliver over 300,000 units globally.

SU7’s Market Appeal: Affordable Luxury Meets Innovation

The SU7 stands out for its competitive pricing and high-tech features. With three versions—Standard (RMB 215,900/$29,775), Pro (RMB 245,900/$33,912), and Max (RMB 299,900/$41,360)—the sedan offers something for every budget. Its sleek design, long-range capabilities, and advanced tech make it a top choice for EV enthusiasts. The overwhelming demand has led to waiting times of up to 20 weeks.

Special Editions and Future Models

Xiaomi’s focus on innovation doesn’t stop at the SU7. Founder Lei Jun recently unveiled the sedan’s autonomous parking system during a live demonstration. He also introduced a 15th-anniversary edition in a bold red color, set for release in March 2025.

Looking ahead, Xiaomi is diversifying its EV offerings. The high-performance SU7 Ultra, priced at RMB 814,900 ($112,385), will join the lineup in March 2025. Additionally, the company plans to launch the YU7, its first electric SUV, by mid-2025, signaling a broader commitment to the EV market.

A Record-Breaking December for Xiaomi

December 2024 proved to be a landmark month, with over 25,000 SU7 units delivered. This strong performance underscores Xiaomi’s growing influence in the EV sector and sets the stage for its ambitious 2025 targets.
